When we purchase a hydroponic kit, we expect the best results. Everything starts with the seeds. Even though the full process can be challenging if you’re a beginner, there are a few ways to check in advance whether your seeds will germinate.
Method one: water test
Start by filling a glass with water and placing the seeds inside. Then, be patient, as this may take anywhere from a few minutes to twenty-four hours.
In the end, you’ll notice that some seeds sink. Ironically, those are the ones that will work!
Method two: thermal shock
In this method, you must dip the seeds in boiling water for just one second (no longer than that, otherwise you may damage them permanently). After that, leave them for twenty-four hours in a glass of water at room temperature. Again, the ones that sink are the ones that will germinate!
Method three: scarification
Gently rub the seeds with sandpaper until they slightly change color. Then place them in a glass of water at room temperature for twenty-four hours.
In this case too, surprisingly, the seeds that sink are the ones that will work!
We hope this was useful for you!
